There can be many other outside causes to neck pains which can also be precisely diagnosed by a medical professional such as a trained physician or doctor. Exterior causes such as whiplash after a car accident can also contribute to neck pains. If your neck pains spread into other parts of the body, causing more problems than simple neck pains, then consult a doctor immediately.

Simple treatments to neck pains include simply staying active with regular exercise and strenuous physical activities which stimulate and help develop the bones. It is also advisable not to turn your head around too quickly when driving or at home. Neck pains can disappear without any special treatments or medications, but for more serious cases, a visit to a doctor such as a chiropractor or other trained doctor may be required. Medications such as a simple dose of paracetamol will sometimes do the trick, but some doctors may prescribe stronger medications depending on the seriousness of the case. Sometimes, painkillers such as codeine phosphate and diazepam may be prescribed for more dire instances of neck pains.

Headaches

Headaches are one of the most common everyday ailments known to everybody, and can affect everyday activities to varying degrees depending on how bad the headache is. Headaches are also known by the scientific name cephalgia, and can even cause neck pains in more serious cases.

Headaches can simply be a mild to severe discomfort or pain in one or more regions and parts of the head and can sometimes be felt on the back of the neck depending on the case. Most cases of headaches are not indicators of any serious disorder, sickness, disease or ailment, and can simply be treated with with off the shelf drugstore medications and some simple lifestyle changes.

There is no known solitary cause of this ailment, but headaches can often be classified into either tension headaches or migraine headaches depending on the case. The former case, tension headaches, are caused from excess contractions of the head and neck muscles, causing neck pain and headaches depending on the case. This is the most common form of headache and can occur with anybody due to poor posture, stress, or excessive fatigue. Prolonged eye strain, tobacco and alcohol use can also contribute to tension headaches, as well as hormonal changes during the menstrual period of women.

Migraine headaches are a throbbing pain in certain regions of the head caused by the constriction of blood vessels, causing lower blood flow to the head and neck regions. A feeling of sickness can often be associated with migraines, and can often be caused through family history of migraines, lack of sleep, alcohol and tobacco use, prolonged stress and tension, as well as the consumption of certain foods.

Headaches of both varieties can be treated with natural means such as sleep or off the shelf drugs such as paracetamol, but if symptoms persist, keep track of when the headaches occur in order for a doctor to get a more detailed picture of your condition. A doctor may prescribe stronger medications from time to time such as anti sickness medicines typically used for other ailments.

More serious cases of headaches that usually also include nausea, vomiting, dizziness and high fevers should also be reason enough to consult a doctor about a headache, in order to prevent more serious ailments and sicknesses brought about by neck pain and headaches.
